Protecting one’s gaze is more difficult than protecting the tongue

‘Abdullah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “Protecting the eyesight is more difficult than protecting the tongue.”

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

عن حبان بن موسى: قال سمعت عبد الله رضي الله عنه  يقول: حفظ البصر أشد من حفظ اللسان
