Can this narration be quoted?
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Your smiling face to your brother is an act of charity. Your commanding good and prohibiting evil is an act of charity.”
Answer:
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith as part of a longer narration. He has declared the Hadith sound (hasanun gharib).
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1956)
Note: This Hadith means that these acts are also rewarding just as charity is rewarding.
(Refer: Tuhfatul Ahwadhi, Hadith: 1956)
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
