Do not turn away a poor person even if all you can give is half a date

Could you provide a reference for this Hadith?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“O ‘Aaishah! Do not turn away a poor man even if all you can give is half a date.”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this as part of a longer Hadith.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2352. Also see Fathul Bari, Hadith: 1418)

The Hadith is suitable to quote.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
