Shayatin imprisoned in the ocean by Sulayman (‘alayhis salam) will emerge

Is this Hadith authentic?

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) narrated:

“Verily in the ocean there are Shayatin who have been imprisoned by Sulayman (‘alayhis salaam). Soon will they emerge and recite the Quran to the people.”

Answer

This statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) is recorded in Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq (Jami’ Ma’mar ibn Rashid) with an authentic chain. Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has also recorded this narration in the foreword of his Sahih, with his chain that goes through Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq.

(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 20807 and Foreword of Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 7)

‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) states, ‘They will recite something else other than Quran, claiming that it is Quran. Their intention will be to mislead the masses, however they will not be misled.’ [i.e, not all of them will mislead]

(Sahih Muslim with Al Minhaj, Hadith: 18)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
