An unreliable virtue of Durud/Salat on Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is this suitable to quote?

من صلى علي يوم الجمعة صلاة واحدة صلى الله عليه وملائكتة ألف ألف صلاة

Answer

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has declared this to be baseless. ‘Allamah Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami (rahimahullah) has also agreed with this ruling.

(Al-Qawlul Badi’, pg. 400 and Ad-Durrul Mandud, pg.161)

Translation

When one sends a single salutation upon me on a Friday, Allah Ta’ala and His Angels send a million salutations upon him in return.

There are several other reliable virtues for this noble deed. One should rather stick to those.

See one such virtue here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
