Reciting Quran is among the best act of worship

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“[Among] The best act of worship of my nation is reciting the Quran”

This Hadith has been recorded on the authority of Sayyiduna An Nu’man ibn Bashir and Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

Imam Abu Nu’aym, Imam Bayhaqi and other Muhaddithun have recorded this narration.

‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahullah) has declared both chains weak.

(Fadailul Quran of Abu Nu’aym; Refer: Al Mughni ‘An Hamlil Asfar, Hadith: 860, Musnadush Shihab, vol. 2 pg. 246, Hadith: 1284 and Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 1865)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
