Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is the following correct to quote as the words of our Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)

من بات كلا من طلب الحلال بات مغفورا له؟

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in Al-Mu’jamul Awsat of Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah)

(see Majma’ul Bahrayn, Hadith: 1924)

‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahullah) commented on the chain by saying: ‘It has some weakness’

(Takhrijul Ihya, Hadith: 1660, also see Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 524)

This Hadith is suitable to quote for the virtue of earning a halal livelihood.

Hereunder is the Translation for the benefit of all:

Whoever spends the night tired from earning a halal livelihood, does so while being forgiven.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
