Living close to the Masjid but not frequenting it is a sign of hypocrisy

What is the source of this narration?

كفى علماً عَلَى النفاق أن يكون الرَّجُلُ جار المسجد لا يرى فِيهِ

Answer

Imam Ibn Rajab Al Hambali (rahimahullah) has cited this narration as the statement of the famous Tabi’i, Ibrahim An Nakha’i (rahimahullah).

(Fathul Bari, vol. 4 pg. 14, Hadith: 644)

Translation

A sufficient sign of hypocrisy is that a man lives next to the Masjid but he is not seen in it.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
