Clarification regarding the virtue of Surah Fath

Are there any virtues for reciting Surah Fath every day? I did have a look at Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah’s (may Allah protect him) footnotes on Tadribur Rawi (vol. 3 pg. 492) and other books, but I could not understand.

Answer

I have not come across any authentic virtue of reciting Surah Fath everyday.

‘Allamah Suyuti (rahimahullah) has enlisted a few Surahs which have some authentic virtues. He did not mention Surah Fath in this list. Shaykh ‘Abdullah Sirajud Din (rahimahullah) states that ‘Allamah Suyuti (rahimahullah) has enlisted most of the Surahs with authentic virtues but he has omitted a few.

After quoting this, Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah cites Surah Fath as an example of the omitted ones.

(Tadribur Rawi, vol. 3 pg. 492-493)

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded the following narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) who says, “…I went to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and greeted him. He said, ‘Tonight a Surah has been revealed which is more beloved to me than that on which the sun rises [the entire world]. Then he recited the opening verse of Surah Fath”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4833, 5012)

Therefore, one who recites this will be reciting a surah that is more beloved to Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) than the whole world.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
