When will a person attain the reality of Iman?

What is the authenticity of this Hadith?

“A person will not attain true belief until he knows what has afflicted him was not going to miss him and what has missed him was never going to afflict him”

Answer

Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Everything has a reality. None has attained the reality/true sense of Iman until he believes whatever has befallen him was never to miss him and what has missed him could not have befallen him”

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 6 pg. 441)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 7 pg. 197)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
