Rayyan, a door in Jannah reserved for those who fast

Please provide the reference for the following narration:

“There is a gate in Jannah called Ar-Rayyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Qiyamah. None except them will enter through it”

Answer

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Sahl ibn Sa’d (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The full narration is as follows:

“There is a gate in Jannah called Ar-Rayyan which those who fast will enter on the Day of Qiyamah. None but they will enter it. It will be said, ‘Where are those that would fast?’ They will stand up and none but they will enter it. Once they have entered, that gate will be shut and no one else will enter”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1896 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1152)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
