I have heard a Hadith, that if you pray two rak’ahs of Salah before leaving home and two rak’ahs when entering your home, you will be protected from harm. Is this authentic?
Answer:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When you intend to leave your house you should offer two rak’ahs of [nafl]. These rak’ahs will protect you from an evil exit [harm] and when you enter your home you should offer two rak’ahs they will safeguard you from harm.”
(Musnad Bazzar, Hadith: 8567)
Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.
