Hadith warning against deceiving the Arabs

Kindly verify the following narration

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whosoever deceives the Arabs, will be deprived of my intercession and will not gain my affection”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration with a very weak chain. Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has also pointed out it’s weakness.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3928. Refer: Mizanul I’tidal and Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 8880)

However, deceiving any fellow muslim is a sin and should be avoided at all costs.

In a Sahih (authentic) Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

‘He who deceives us, is not from among us.’

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 101)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best
