Is there any virtue in reciting Surah Dukhan every night?
Answer:
1) ‘Allamah Suyuti (rahimahullah) has mentioned Surah Dukhan to be from those Surahs that do have authentic virtues.
(Tadribur Rawi, vol. 1 pg. 490)
2) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
‘Whomsoever recites Surah Dukhan at night, seventy thousand angels will seek forgiveness on his behalf’.
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2888)
The above narration has quite a weak chain. Despite this, reciting Surah Dukhan does hold extra merit in general as quoted at the outset.
