A huge reward for fasting on the white days [Ayyamul Bid]?

Is the following virtue correct?

“When a person fasts on the three white days [Ayyamul Bid], the first day [the 13th] is equal to 3000 years of fasting, the second day [the 14th] is equal to 10 000 years of fasting and the third day [the 15th] is equivalent to 13 000 years (some versions mention 18 000 years) of fasting.”

Answer

Imam Ibn Shahin (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration. However, The Muhaddithun have declared the narration a fabrication. ‘Allamah Ibn ‘Arraq (rahimahullah) states, ‘The signs of fabrication are evident.’

(At Targhib Fi Fadailil A’amal, Hadith: 535. Refer: Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 2 pg. 148)

The narration in question is not suitable to quote.

There are other authentic narrations which encourage keeping these fasts, see here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
