What is the source of this narration:
Narrated by Masruq, ‘Abdullah [ibn Mas’ud] was mentioned before ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr. The latter said,
“That is a man I continue to love because I heard Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) saying:
‘Learn the recitation of the Quran from [any of these] four persons: ‘Abdullah ibn Masud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifah, Ubay ibn Ka’b, and Muadh ibn Jabal.”
[The narrator says:] ‘I do not remember whether he mentioned Ubay first or Muadh.’
(radiyallahu’anhum)
