Q. My marriage is heading towards a divorce, no part of my dowry was paid to me, will my husband still have to pay it?
A. Seeing that you are actually living together as husband and wife, then it is compulsory upon your husband to pay you the dowry which he agreed upon in the beginning of the marriage. Even if you are divorced, he must still pay it. This is the Islamic ruling on the matter.
