Question:
Regarding Zakah, can you choose which Nisaab you take? Silver is at the Moment about 500 Euro and Gold nearly 5000 Euro. So can someone say: I would rather take the Nisab of Gold (in order not to pay)?

Answer:
Zakat is mainly given according to silver, the reason why is because the threshold is lower and it is more beneficial to the people in need. However much you earn (if it is over the nisab amount and you’ve possessed it for a year) you give 2.5% of the wealth for zakat.
The nisab in euros is 426.21 Euros.
Zakat is an obligation from Allah, so, therefore, if you have reached the nisab then it is important that you give the zakat.
