Can One Give a Mushaf to a Non-Muslim for Rebinding?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

Can one give a Mushaf to a non-Muslim for rebinding, if there is no Muslim who does so in one’s area? The person asking this question about rebinding the mushaf holds sentimental value as this was their first mushaf after accepting Islam.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is commendable to have such veneration and respect for the mushaf. Being in the state of purification is an essential condition for one to hold the mushaf.1 Thus it would be advisable to delay the rebinding of the Mushaf until a Muslim is found who can rebind it.

Only Allah knows best
