Question

I want to ask up to what time we can pray fajr salah. In my town, fajr time enters at 4:17 am, iqamah is at 5:30 am and sunrise is 6:00 am. Will my namaz be valid till 5:55 am

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The timing of Fajr is from true dawn until sunset.

This has been described in Al Muhit Al burhani as follows:

أولوقتالفجرمنحينيطلعالفجرالثاني ، و هوالفجرالمستطيرالمنتشرفيالأفق ، فإذاطلعالفجرالثانيخرجوقتالعشاء ، و دخلوقتالفجر […] و آخروقتالفجر :طلوعالشمس

“The first time of Fajr is from when the second Fajr appears, and it is the spreading Fajr that spreads on the horizon. If the second Fajr appears, the time for Isha has ended, and the time for Fajr has entered […] and the last time of Fajr: the rising of the sun.” (Al Muhit Al Burhani, Vol 2, Pg 5)

The best time to pray Fajr is:

يستحبتأخيرالفجرولايؤخرهابحيثيقعالشكفيطلوعالشمسبليسفربهابحيثلوظهرفسادصلاتهيمكنهأنيعيدهافيالوقتبقراءةمستحبة،وهكذافيالأزمنةكلها

“It is Mustahab (preferable) to delay Fajr but not to the extent that doubt occurs regarding sunrise. Rather, he should pray it so that if the invalidity of his prayer becomes apparent, it is possible for him to repeat it on time with Mustahab recitation. And this is at all times.” (Fatawa Hindiyyah, Vol 1, Pg 58)

To answer your question, as long as the sun has not risen, Fajr Salah will be valid.

Only Allah knows best
