Answer

There are many virtues of reciting Surah Yasin mentioned in the ahadith of the Prohet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam

The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam has said; “Everything has a heart and Surah Yasin is the heart of the Quran. Whosoever recites Surah Yasin once Allah will record the reward of reciting the Quran 10 times.” (Sunan Tirmizi P.116 V.2)

It has been reported by Saaiduna Aaisha Radiallhu Anha that the Prohet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said, “there is a Surah in the Quran that intercedes for its reciter and forgives its listener. Know! It is Surah Yasin. It is called ‘Mu’immah’ in the Torah. It was enquired, what is Mu’immah? The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said, it embraces the person with the goodness of this world and removes the dismay of the hereafter.” (Hashiya of Tafsir Jalalalayn P.368)

Saaiduna Ataa Bin Abi Rabaah Radiallahu Anhu states that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said: “Whosoever recites Surah Yasin  in the early part of the day his needs will be fulfilled.” (Mishkaatul Masabeeh P.189)

In regards to your question it is permissible to recite Surah Yasin during difficult times.
