Hanafi praying behind Shafee

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

It will be permissible for a Hanafi to read salah behind a Shafee Imam as long as the Shafee Imam refrains from those things, which are subject to disagreement (Ikhtilaaf) between the two schools of Fiqh.  (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.84 v.1 & Bahrur Raaiq p.46 v.2)
