Colour coded tajweed Quran

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Colour coded tajweed Qurans

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

Colour coded tajweed Qurans are permissible to use. It is similar to the inclusion of harakaats, rukuu and paraas, which was innovated to help Muslims outside the Arabian Peniunsula to recite the Quran. The colour coded Qurans assist the reciter in reciting the Quran with tajweed.

Allah (SWA) in the Holy Qur’an has said ‘And recite the Qur’an with Tarteel…’ (Surah Al-Muzzammill  v.4).  Tarteel basically signifies that the letters and the words must be pronounced clearly and distinctly (Maariful Quran p.616 v.8)

The one who does not recite the Qur’an properly with tajweed and the correct pronunciation, then the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said “There are many are who recite the Qur’an while the Qur’an curses them”.
