Can We Perform Non-Fardh Salaah (Prayers) Without Wudhu

Question:

My friend said that we can perform non-fardh salaah (prayers) without wudhu. Is it true?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

All prayers must be prayed with the condition of whudu being met. [1]

There is nothing indicating that there is a difference for prayers which are non-fardh etc. Therefore the statement is not true.

Only Allah knows best
