When To Celebrate Eid in the Following Situation
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Answer
One follows the country he is in on the first day of Shawaal. In other words, if they are going to be celebrating Eid on that person’s 32nd fast then that person would have to fast 32 days. The extra two days will be treated as optional.
On the contrary, if they are celebrating Eid on his 28th day then he will celebrate Eid with them and then do qadha of the remaining fasts after the month of Ramadhan. (Fatawa Rahimiyah p.181 v.5)
