Praying Salah at Home

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question

Please help me understand matters regarding fardh prayers when performed at home.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

The Fardh, when read at home should be prayed in the same manner as prayed in a Masjid with the congregation.

So you pray the same number of Rakats and the actions are the same.

However, if you happened to pray by yourself at home, then you may recite the Quran quietly even in Fajr,  Magrib and Isha prayers.

( Radul-Muktar V 2 P 251-252 Darul-Kutub-Alilmiyyahباب صفة الصلاة)[1]

However, effort should be made to pray Salah in the masjid with the congregation as there is more reward in that.

Only Allah Knows best.
