Question:

On the nikah day when the عقد takes place in the Masjid, is it sunnah for the bride to remain at home?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Looking throughout the Sunnah I have not found any examples that indicate a woman staying at home during her marriage ceremony in the mosque as a sunnah. It is normal that due to gender separation that the women are separated from the nikah hall and permission is sought on their behalf by their wali (guardian), however, it is not a sunnah for the woman to stay at home.
