In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Answer:
Niyyah (intention) of performing Hajj on someone’s behalf is necessary for Hajj Badal. A person who wishes to perform Hajj on behalf of someone must first make an intention of performing Hajj Badal on someone’s behalf and then start performing the rituals.[1] The person must first complete his Umrah, then perform Hajj Badal.
