Question

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

If a woman makes fun of me and I tell someone that I don’t like that woman because she was making fun of my appearance. Will I be sinful for telling it to someone?

Answer

If you spoke to someone to seek help with regards to another’s ill-treatment towards you then there is nothing wrong with this. In the first instance, it may be better for you to approach the person directly and remind them that what they are doing is wrong.

However, if you feel that you are unable to do this, you may seek help from others, such as a relative, a mutual friend or someone knowledgable and respected in the community and ask them to speak to the person.
