Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

A musaafir has done imaamat for zuhr and forgot so he did four rakats

Is there any gunjaaish or will the musallis have to be told to repeat their salah?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

In the aforementioned scenario, two rakaats will be counted as fardh and two will be counted as nafl if he performed Sajdah Sahwe at the end. As he did not perform Sajdah Sahwe, his salah will be classed as Wajibul Iaadha (obliatory to repeat) within the Zuhr time. If he does not repeat the salah within the time the salah will be considered to be valid for all those who are praying behind the Imam.

Only Allah knows best
