What is the ruling of the following hadith
“Whoever drinks water straight after getting upon, his strength decreases” (Reported by Tabarani)
In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
I searched for this hadith properly in the Mujam al-Kabeer of Tabarani and well as mujam as-Sageer and could not find it.
I could not search properly in Mujam al-Awsat due to the difficult manner in which the author has arranged the book and likewise I failed to find the hadith also in this book based on my little research, however Al- Haysame الهيثمي)) in Majmaus-Zawaid ( مجمع الزوائد ) quote this hadith. Here is the actual text from the book
Tabarani reports from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that the prophet said :
“Whoever drinks water straight after getting upon, his strength decreaes
Tabarani then mentions this narration has a weak narrator in it.
Najmudeen Damasqia (.نجم الدين الغزي (977 – 1061 هـ = 1570 – 1651 م ) also mentions in his booksإتقان ما يحسن من الأخبار الدائرة على الألسن. that this hadith is weak
Only Allah Knows best.
