What is the ruling on praying on a musalla with pictures of holy sites?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
asalamualaykum mufti sahab, I have heard from many people that it is a very big sin to pray on a musalla (Janamaaz) having pictures / designs of the Holy Kaba / Masjid-e-Nabwi or any other mosques / Minars. I am also told that these has been deliberately dumped in the market by enemies of Islam. Kindly do the Khulasa.

It is not a sin but lawful to perform salah on a musalla (prayer rug) having pictures or designs of the Holy Kaba or Masjid Nabavi etc. When it is allowed to perform salah in the Holy Kaba itself, then what objection there would be to perform salah on musalla having its picture? However, it is better to perform salah on simple muslla instead of one having pictures of the Holy Kaba or a mosque.
