Assalam-u-Alaikum: I am being encountring alot of ghair muqalideen hazrat at the place where I live. And actually most of the time I have to lead the salat at our masjid. These salafi hazrat are very particular about 2rakat nafl before salat and emphasize on this so much that if someone do not pray then they ask him why.I just want to know what evidences we have in religion about that. Did prophet SAW was very punctual in that (means did he perform most of the time). In short I want how much emphsis religion put on this. wassalam

It is mustahab (desirable) to perform Tahiyyatul Masjid after entering mosque:
قال الحافظ في الفتح: واتفق أئمۃ الفتوی علی أن الأمر في ذلک للندب (إعلاء السنن 7:33)
Therefore, treating a mustahab act like wajib is not right on part of the Ghair Muqallideen.
