Salat – Praying in the masjid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Rain and cold are valid reasons for not praying in the masjid. In this country it rains frequently (usually drizzle), and it is often “cold”. How is rain and cold defined?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Al-Salam alaykum

It refers to such heavy rain and severe cold that it is extremely difficult to go out of the house. A drizzle is not sufficient grounds for offering salah at home.
