Is it permissible for a man from a non-Sayyid caste to marry into a family of Sayyids?

Is it permissible to a man who belongs to a caste except Sayyids (ex: Shaikh, Pathan etc) to marry a girl who belongs to a family of Sayyid or Sayyad-us-Sadat? Please reply in the light of hadith.

Answer

(Fatwa: 368/244/D=1433)

If the girl and her wali (guardian) agree, then he can do nikah with her.
