How many Kaffarahs are required when a person is unsure of how many times they have broken a promise?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
May I know, how many Kaffarahs a person needs to give when he or she does not know how many times a promise have been broken? (The person tried to recall, but he was unable to conclude as the promise was broken many times).

Answer

(Fatwa: 1161/971/B=1432)

He should have over-estimation of all oaths that he has broken and should give the kaffarah of the estimated oaths. Likelihood shall be in place of surety. Just what is likelihood, it is enough.
