Can we go to Jeddah meeqat to enter IHRAM if public transport won’t stop long enough?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
As salam alaikum, Respected ulama of deoband. I stay in KSA in riyadh. If i want to go for umrah and the public transport is not going to stop such a long time in which we can go in IHRAM can we go to jeddah meeqat for going in to IHRAM.

Answer

(Fatwa: 601/601=M/1430)

In this case, it is better to perform ghusl and wear ihram in Riyadh first, then travel to Makkah. Make intention of umrah 10-15 minutes before you approach any meeqat (Ihram point). So, the restrictions in ihram will apply only after you will make your intention. It is not necessary to go to Jeddah to wear ihram, rather wearing ihram is necessary from the meeqat occurring in your way from Riyadh to Makkah.
