For the 4 sunnah rakahs before Asr and before Isha, does it have to be prayed in sets of 2 rakah each or 4 rakah salah altogether.

It is mustahab to offer four rakahs before Asr and Isha salah with one salam.
(ويستحب أربع قبل العصر ، وقبل العشاء وبعدها بتسليمة ) (الدر المختار مع رد المحتار : 23/2، كتاب الصلاة، باب الوتر والنوافل).
