I got my inheritance share in my late father’s property, which is an industrial shop. Along with me my 2 sisters also have share in this property. Presently we have rented out this property and distribute the rent in proportion to our shares. In future, we will sell this property and take our shares. Please let us know is zakah applicable on this property or will it be applicable after we sell it?

In the above mentioned case there is no zakah on the value of that shop. However, zakah shall be wajib on the income earned through it provided the conditions that make zakah obligatory are found.
