Noman is good name. It was the name of a Sahabi. It is also the name of famous Imam Abu Hanifah (may Allah have mercy upon him). This is enough for the virtue and blessing of this name that it had been the names of such great personalities.
According Misbahul Lughat, it means: Gul-e-Lala (tulip). It is also written that it had been the surname of each rulers of al-Hirah.
