(Fatwa: 245/191/D=03/1437)
If the child is poor and so are his parents and eligible for zakah then zakah amount may be given to such a child. Further if this child is doing Hifz Quran or receiving religious education then you shall get the reward of propagating Islam and protecting religion as well.
