My brother had a beautiful daughter this month in Shawwal, he is thinking of naming her Mehreen is it a good name? If not, please suggest any other better names.

Mehreen is a correct name, you may keep it. However, it would be far better if you choose any name from the following: Ruqayya, Zainab, Umm Kulsum, Barirah, Tayyabah, Umm Habibah.
