Question:
Is it permissible to trim your hair on the sides so that it foes not look untidy, the hair on a p persons head just to shape it, not to make it two lengths?
Answer:
As this will not fall under the prohibited action of Qaza’ (shaving part of the head and leaving other parts), the ruling is that yes, it will be permissible to trim the loose hairs which are behind the ears with a scissor or machine for purposes of keeping the hair tidy and neat.
