Q: Is it ok to read Sura Kaahf in English on a Friday because I am struggling to read Arabic and it takes over an hour for me to complete the Sura?
A:Recitation (Tilaawah) of the Qur’aan is confined to Arabic. Do not despair if it takes longer than reading it in English. The Hadeeth promises extra reward (Thawaab) for the person who struggles and recites, in fact double reward. (Kanzul Ummaal V1 P511). As the weeks go by, the recitation will become easier and will take a shorter time.
