Urine Incontinence

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by CouncilofUlama.co.za
Q: My problem is that after I have urinated, some urine remains in my penis, so what I do is I put a tissue paper in my underwear so it absorbs the urine so I can wash it later but even after 2 hours later, urine less then a drop still remains in my penis and it is actually very exhausting and discomforting to make sure that remaining urine comes out. What should I do?

A: Subsequent to passing urine engage in some physical/strenuous activity , it will help to expel the remaining dropps from your uretha.

Unless  you qualify as a ma’zoor (excused person in Islamic law)  if any drops are discharged it will  nullify your wudu .The way to overcome  this problem is to plan your toilet times, ensure that you visit the loo way before salaat time so that all drops are out by the time you read salaat. Place a tissue by your organ before salaat and after the the salaat if you find any drops had come out you will have to repeat your salaat. You could also seek medical assistance from a qualified doctor to help you cure this problem.
