Hot Food

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: I read in a book “Hot food is to be avoided. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, also disapproved of it.” I wanted to know does it mean hot as in when you touch it you feel it hot or the other hot as in spicy?

A: The hadith you refer to means food that is hot to the touch, not hot in spices and masalas and chillies, etc.

And Allah knows best
