Lying in order to go to the Jumu’ah Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

My little brother had a question for you guys. He wanted to ask if it is permissible to lie in order to attend the Juma’ah (Friday) prayer. He could hand in a note saying he’s not feeling well or something like that. He goes to a very strict middle school who are not too fond of people who do salaah. There is no islamic school in the area so he can’t change schools either. The teachers won’t allow him to go, because I faced the same problem when I went to that school. But in my last year I just ditched school to attend Juma’ah. My little brother can’t, because they will expel him or even throw him out in no time. If he isn’t allowed to bend the truth, is there another solution? Please help.

In order for us to respond to your query, please clarify the following questions:

  1. Is the school in reference situated in South Africa or abroad?
  2. If the school in reference is situated in South Africa, please specify the actual location of the school?
