Reciting behind Imām in Ṣalāh

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamu Alaikum what should i do in this situation: I was praying behind the Imam and while he was reciting i was trying to recite behind him as well i accidently went ahead and said wa eed(with a daud) when the proper pronounciation was wa eed(with a dal) Jazak ALLAH

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Actually, the Muqtadi (follower) should not recite behind the Imām in Ṣalāh, whether it is a Ṣalāh in which the Qirāt is recited loudly or softly. To recite behind the Imām in Ṣalāh is prohibited (Makrūh Taḥrīmī). Nevertheless, your Ṣalāh was valid.[1]
