Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is incorrect for your second wife to tell you to divorce your first wife. You cannot accede to her request as that will lead to Zulm on the first wife. You should also not divorce the second wife simply because of the polygamous related tensions.

You were man enough to marry two wives. Now be man enough to bear and tolerate both wives. Do not succumb to your emotions and throw in the towel. According to Shariah, you should maintain equality between both wives. You chose a path knowing all its implications, now manage it.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
