If najasa eg blood, urine, sperm has dried into the carpet and you do not know where it has dried, then…

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

assalaamu alaikam, if najasa eg blood, urine, sperm has dried into the carpet and you do not know where it has dried: 1) whenever you walk over it do your clothes (eg socks) become unclean and need to be washed and if you walk over the dried najasa bare footed, will your wudhu be broken. 2) can you still pray where it has dried? 3) how do u make the carpet clean again? jazakallah khair

Answer

Assalāmu `alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabrakatuh,

1)     If any impurity falls on a carpet and the impurity dries up, walking on such impurity does not result in ones feet becoming impure or the wudhu being broken.

2)     If the actual place of impurity is not known, washing the entire carpet once will suffice to make the carpet pure.
